Joey Watts
Joey Watts began his photographic career in the late 1980’s, shooting his native state of Utah. Growing up in Utah Valley, he was surrounded by the natural beauty of America’s West, a hotbed for action sports and the perfect backdrop to frame his subjects. His interests have been consistent through the years, and he continues to focus on outdoor recreation, specializing in the high energy of back country skiing, hardcore mountain biking, and the Pacific surf scene.
For the last 15 years, Watts has combined his love for still and motion arts with equal passion. Whether shooting on the powdered peaks of Alaska, or deep at sea in Ecuador, the artist is at home exposing some of the world’s most inspiring athletes. His work has been published internationally, and includes such clients as Quicksilver, Billabong, and Reef, to name a few.
Joey Watts is a camera assistant on Heroes, and currently lives in Los Angeles, not far from the Pacific ocean.
