Marcy Deutsch
Marcy Deutsch was first diagnosed with moderate high functioning autism over twenty years ago, at the age of five. Despite a grim prognosis by a panel of doctors, Marcy has managed to overcome incredible odds. When she was twelve, she was asked to draw her favorite animal for a school project. She illustrated her pet, a green-winged macaw named Tiny. Her artwork gained attention, and she immediately began private art lessons. Marcy is now skilled in several different mediums including color pencils, oils, pastels and watercolors.
As an adult dealing with autism, Marcy copes with the severe stress and anxiety that plague other adults with this disorder. It is through her art that she has learned to connect with the world around her.
Marcy exhibits in galleries and stores throughout Washington State. Additionally, Marcy speaks at various autism conferences to offer hope and encouragement to others.
