Rosa Martinez

Dr. Martinez has been working in the field of autism for 26 years. She has worked with infants, toddlers, preschool, school age, and teenage and adult populations. She has a B.S. in Special Education from CCNY, a Masters degree in Adolescent Autism, a Masters of Philosophy, and a Doctorate in Behavioral Disorders from Columbia University. Dr. Martinez is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Dr. Martinez worked for the New York City Public School System for 17 years as a teacher and a behavior analyst. In 1998 she was recruited to be the Educational Director of a newly founded private school, and has since established several ABA school programs for young children with PDD and autism in New York City. She has also taught Education courses at Hunter College, the College of Staten Island, Long Island University and Touro College. She is currently a consultant for various applied behavior analysis Autism Spectrum Disorder programs and is on the faculty advisory board at The Manhattan Children’s Center. She has lectured and presented at various conferences regarding Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis.

Dr. Martinez is also currently involved in organizing art exhibitions in the United States featuring artworks by individuals and savants on the autism spectrum. She is the curator of the “Don’t ‘dis’ the ability” exhibition which has toured from NYC to California. The “Don’t ‘dis’ the ability” exhibition  was also featured as part of the World Autism Awareness Day Inaugural events at the United Nations in 2008.

Dr. Martinez is a member of the International Association for Behavior Analysis, the NYS Association for Behavior Analysis, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the Autism Society of America and Autism Speaks.

EVENT: “STROKES OF GENIUS”
Extraordinary Savant Art Exhibition – Featured artist works include the internationally renowned Stephen Wiltshire, Ping Lian Yeak, Temple Grandin, Donna Williams, and many more.
